Online Training on “Digital Tools and Datasets for Climate Change Education”

On 26 October 2021, the training on “Digital Tools and Datasets for Climate Change Education” started online. The training is hosted by the University of Helsinki (UHEL) and the Odessa State Environmental University (OSENU), and this training is a part of the Erasmus+ ClimEd project. More than 40 participants as trainees attended the first day of lectures. The first lectures – “Regional focus of IPCC Assessment Report in Ukraine Context”, “UHMI activities in support climate related research: current status and perspectives”, “WMO integrated climate services: current status and perspectives”, and “Observations for climatic variables: obs. system, specifics, challenges” – were delivered by Drs. Svitlana Krakovska (Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Institute, UHMI, Ukraine), Wilfran Moufouma Okia (World Meteorological Organization, WMO, Switzerland), and Antti Mäkelä (Finnish Meteorological Institute, FMI, Finland).

The 3rd ClimEd training programme includes lectures (26-28 October 2021), home-work-assignments as groups’ projects, and the final presentations (12 November 2021).
